1. Purpose
BookBall helps organise amateur football matches and groups, enables direct chats between players and provides a global board for unfilled places. The platform does not own pitches, referee matches or replace agreements between organisers and participants.
2. Account
You must provide accurate information, protect your credentials and use an @handle that does not impersonate another person or infringe rights. To create an account you declare that you are at least 16 and accept the current versions of these Terms and the Privacy Policy. We retain the timestamp, versions and locale of that declaration, not your date of birth; this self-declaration does not replace legally required checks. You are responsible for actions taken through your account until you report unauthorised access.
3. Roles and permissions
Lead organisers, delegates and captains have different capabilities. On the vacancy board, authorised organisers manage applications for their match and each captain only those for their own team. Anyone inviting a guest or handling an application agrees to use the minimum data only to organise the match.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use BookBall or its chats to harass or discriminate, send unsolicited communications, manipulate statistics, access another person’s information, introduce malicious code or act unlawfully. Organisers may remove messages only from group or match chats within their scope; they cannot read or moderate direct messages without a future explicit reporting flow.
5. Matches, bookings and payments
Confirmation in BookBall reflects organisational status but does not guarantee physical pitch availability. If bookings or payments are introduced, their specific terms will be shown before you confirm the transaction.
Paid match places
When payments are enabled, the current price and policy are fixed by the backend before a place is held. Confirmation depends on authorised payment and remaining capacity. Refund policy.
Marketplace, clubs and family responsibilities
Operators remain responsible for pitch availability and booking terms. Club administrators must invite only discoverable accounts and recipients must accept. Guardians confirm they are authorised to manage dependant data and may revoke consent.
6. Statistics and content
Participants are responsible for their information and messages. Group and match chats are limited to authorised members and may be moderated. A direct message is read only by its two participants and each may delete only their own messages; deletion clears the text and keeps a technical marker. Voting and automatic rules do not make statistics official federation data.
7. Availability
We work to keep the service operational, although maintenance, providers, connectivity or force majeure may cause interruptions. Experimental features may change before their final release.
8. Intellectual property
BookBall software, design and proprietary elements are protected. Users retain rights in their photographs and content and grant only the permission needed to display them within the service.
9. Suspension and closure
We may restrict an account that compromises security or breaches these terms. On deletion we remove personal data and may retain anonymised messages where needed to preserve conversation context. Users may request deletion at any time from the account deletion page.
